Abstract

Evaluation of guidance and counseling is needed to fix programs that are less successful. To produce a proper evaluation of guidance and counseling we must know the objectives to be achieved and where the evaluation will begin. Evaluation of guidance and counseling is an effort to determine the degree of quality of the implementation of the program of guidance and counseling activities. So this study aims to elaborate on the theoretical basis and implementation of the evaluation of guidance and counseling programs in schools. The research method used is library research method. The data collection method used is the documentation method. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. To maintain the accuracy of the assessment and prevent misinformation in data analysis, inter-library checking and rereading of the literature are carried out. The purpose of this research is to develop the theoretical basis and implementation of the guidance and counseling program. The results of this study are the elaboration of the theoretical basis and the implementation of the guidance and counseling program as a whole including:1) understanding of program evaluation, 2) guidance and counseling program components,3) understanding of the evaluation of the guidance and counseling program, 4) the benefits of implementing the evaluation of the guidance and counseling program, 5) the procedure for evaluating the guidance and counseling program, 6) the barriers to evaluating the guidance and counseling program
